Using Squeakernet...

Overview:

Squeakernet uses inline graphics and (PATHETICALLY) simple HTML to present a kind of first-rodent experience, by showing the user representations of what they would see from their position and orientation.

Basically, you can look in four directions: North, East, South, or West. You can move either foreward, backwards, left, or right, one "step" at a time. Each time you change your location or direction, your point of view changes, and you see a new picture showing what is in front of you.

What It All Means:

The user interface (if you want to call it one ;) is very straight-forward, consisting of the following things:

Main View:

This shows what you can see from your current position and direction.

A typical view might look like this:

Map View:

This shows an overhead (or "plan") view of your current location, and may make it easier to see which direction you can go next.

"Move" Buttons:

Description Text:

This tells you which direction you are currently looking, and anything else you might need to know.
